Columbia man drowns at Lake of the Ozarks

A Columbia man drowned late Friday night while helping a friend who fell overboard at the Lake of the Ozarks.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol incident reports, 25-year-old Adam Pedego had jumped into McCoy Branch Cove at the 2 mile marker at the Lake of the Ozarks just before 11 p.m.

Pedego and two friends jumped into the water to help another person who had fallen from the bow of a 2009 Landau pontoon. The boat is owned by Rustin Reyes of Kansas City.

A trooper told ABC 17 News that Pedego’s body was not found until Saturday.
