Tracking spot showers and storms
TUESDAY: It’ll be another afternoon with some of us dodging those spotty storms. Highs will top out in the middle 80’s with a few glimpses of sunshine, especially early in the day.
TONIGHT: Anything left out there will fizzle an hour or two after sunset. Lows will bottom out in the upper 60’s.
EXTENDED: The threat for some afternoon storms will be there again tomorrow, but most of the activity will stay east. An upper-level ridge will be nudging that activity closer to Illinois, but we can’t rule out a few of those in the afternoon. The threat will stick around the area, but the thing affecting more of the viewing area will be the heat. Without those storms to cool us down, temperatures will reach into the low 90’s Thursday and Friday, with a chance to spill over into Saturday. Factoring in the humidity, it will feel close to 100 in some spots. A front will move through sometime this weekend, bringing some relief from the humidity along with some low-end rain chances. The timing on when that will be is a bit uncertain at this point still.
