Suspect in 2020 Columbia shooting arrested on Memorial Day

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man charged in a north Columbia shooting has been arrested.

Online jail records showed Tevone Stapleton was booked into the Boone County Jail Monday afternoon. He is being held without bond.

Prosecutors filed charges against Stapleton in April. According to police, Stapleton fired a gun from his car in the area of Bodie Drive and Edenton Boulevard on Nov. 19, 2020. He is charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

According to court documents, police found shell casings on the street as well as property damaged. No one was injured in the shooting.

Prosecutors charged another man, Tevarius Harris, in connection with the shooting.

Harris is charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. Police said he lied to officers about who he was with at the time of the shooting.
