One person pulled from Columbia crash

One person was taken to University Hospital after a crash Saturday morning in north Columbia.

According to a fire department news release, the crash happened at 4501 Route B around 11:19 a.m., near Mid-City Lumber.

Two people were in a Volkswagon that rolled over on the road. One person managed to get out of the car without help.

But rescue crews had to remove the roof of the car to get a second person out. That person, whose name and information had not been released Saturday evening, was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Columbia fire crews said the extrication took ten minutes.
