Former Mid-MO court clerk admits she took missing money

A former Mid-Missouri court clerk pleaded guilty on Friday after a state audit in 2013 discovered funds totaling more than $11,000.

Lanet Bittle is from Fulton and used to work at 13th Judicial Circuit in Callaway County.

Last year a special prosecutor filed three counts of forgery against Bittle, who posted $10,000 bond.

Bittle is accused of voiding receipts on certain fines and then skimming the money.
