Police still looking for two in armed robbery
Columbia Police, Boone County Deputies, and Highway Patrol are looking for two suspects in an armed robbery that happened Monday night in the 200 block of West Havens Drive near the Clearview subdivision.
A victim was shot at several times after giving the suspects what they wanted.
At around 8:30 p.m., a man was walking out of the home when two men approached him with a gun, asking for money.
The man told Boone County deputies he turned over his keys and a cell phone to the suspects before they ran off.
One of the suspects turned around and shot at the victim, missing him.
“He did not know who these two individuals were,” said Boone County Detective Tom O’Sullivan.
“We did find his cell phone that had been discarded nearby.”
That was the only trace of the suspects according to deputies.
The K-9 unit was out last night at the scene, but lost track of the scent.
The victim said the suspects are two black men who were wearing dark colored hats and clothing.
“Usually what happens in those incidences, the suspects have a car somewhere nearby and once they jump into it, obviously the scent is gone.”
O’Sullivan said if encountered with a situation like this, the best thing to do is comply like the victim did in this instance.
