Firefighters work blaze on large farm in south Columbia

No one was hurt this morning when a fire broke out and destroyed a barn on a large estate in south Columbia.

Nearly 30 units responded from the Columbia Fire Department and the Boone County Fire Protection District a little after 7:30 a.m.

The fire at Crown Center Farms at 1500 E. Nifong Blvd. shut down a section of the street for several hours while firefighters worked to get the scene under control.

A truck returned this afternoon to investigation a possible flare up. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
