Columbia Police and Public Works conduct traffic tests on Scott Blvd.

Since Scott Boulevard has been closed between Bellview Drive and Vawter School Road, Columbia PublicWorks traffic engineers have been monitoring the flow of traffic on alternate routes.

Traffic signal timing has been adjusted at Nifong and Forum, Chapel Hill and Forum, Stadium and Forum, andRoute K at Providence Road.

CPW will create a right-in/right-out turn at the entrance to the Missouri Athletic Center on Forum south of theMKT trail entrance between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Engineers will evaluate traffic flow when restricting left turns during these peak travel times.

Columbia Police will control traffic at Chapel Hill and Limerick and at Chapel Hill and Fairview Wednesday
and Thursday. These intersections are four-way stops.

During the week of spring break, engineers will monitor the traffic flow on Forum and Chapel Hill while most schools and universities in Columbia are not in session.

Data collected from these tests will help engineers determine if more traffic control measures should be
put in place to help traffic flows during peak travel times during the Scott Blvd. closure, and if so, when.

Traffic engineers have found Route K has not been used to it’s full capacity during peak travel times.

Drivers have the option of of taking Scott Blvd. south to Route K, then traveling east to Providence Rd. then
north. CPW said this could reduce traffic flows on Nifong, Forum, and Chapel Hill during peak travel hours.
