Callaway County Sheriff’s dept. bring back missing Fulton woman in custody

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Callaway County Sheriff's Office staff traveled to Centralia, Ill. Thursday and took custody of a Fulton woman believed to be kidnapped from local law enforcement.

Prosecutors charged Tori Taylor, 25, on Wednesday with tampering with a motor vehicle. Taylor is accused of borrowing a man's car on April 21 and not returning the vehicle, according to a probable cause statement. The man reported the vehicle stolen on April 24, according to the document.

Deputies transported Taylor back to the Callaway County Jail.

Police have said Taylor was the woman involved in a possible kidnapping April 26, when a witness saw three men pull a woman into a car in Fulton. Police said at the time that Taylor might be a kidnapping victim.

Taylor was arrested this week in Illinois on Missouri warrants, Fulton police said Wednesday. She is expected to be back in Missouri in the next few days after waiving extradition proceedings, Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Wilson said Wednesday.
