Rest of bridge coming down at Lake of the Ozarks
The third and final section of the Hurricane Deck bridge will come down Thursday morning at the Lake of the Ozarks. Traffic will be stopped in both directions on Route 5 for about 15 minutes during the 9 a.m. blast.
A second explosion will also take place immediately following at the top of the structure. Over the next several weeks, crews will salvage rest of the scrap metal from the water below.
The old bridge was first built in 1936. An average of 10,000 vehicles currently use the route, according to MoDot.
