Columbia College chooses new president

Columbia College announced its new leader late Friday afternoon. Scott Dalrymple was chosen to become the school’s 17th president, after Dr. Gerald Brouder announced his retirement last January.

Dalrymple is currently dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Excelsior College in Albany, N.Y., and recently visited the Mid-Missouri campus earlier this week.

“During his visit, it became apparent that Scott had all the qualities we were looking for in a leader… He will be an excellent leader who will help usher in a new era of growth at the college,” said Daisy Grossnickle, chair of the board of trustees.

An official welcome ceremony will be held next Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. in Launer Auditorium.
