Tracking the return of sunshine today

WELCOME SUN

WEDNESDAY: We’ll wake up to some clouds this morning once again but manage to break them up by this afternoon. The return of sunshine won’t have much of an impact on temperatures, still topping out in the low to mid 60’s, thanks to a northeast breeze.

TONIGHT: Those mostly clear skies are here to stay overnight, leading to another cool night. Temperatures will tumble into the low 40’s.

EXTENDED: We’re tracking even more sunshine into Thursday, but will manage to turn the winds out of the south. This will help to start moderating this cool air mass we’ve been stuck with. Temperatures will push into the upper 60’s tomorrow and Friday. Rain chances will return to end the week, however. There’s still some question as to how dry we’ll still be by Friday, so onset times might change, but we’ll be looking at some showers by the afternoon and evening. The focus of those showers will slide a bit north Saturday, north of I-70. They look to return for most of us Sunday, and we could hear a few rumbles of thunder throughout the day. This active pattern with off and on rain will continue into the middle of next week, but temperatures will still manage to warm into the middle 70’s.
