Gasconade County man accused of assaulting woman he met on Craiglist

A Gasconade County man is behind bars, accused of sodomizing a woman he met on Craigslist.

Brandon L. Campbell, 37, of Bland, Mo., is charged with first-degree felony sodomy and false imprisonment.

Sheriff Chris Heitman says Campbell and the female victim met on the classifieds website and decided to meet for sex. Both the victim and Campbell had agreed that money would be exchanged for the sex.

The victim told authorities that when she entered Campbell’s residence, the door was locked behind her and he forced her to perform oral sex on him.

Police say Campbell also threatened to have a gun and claimed he was a law enforcement officer. The Maries County Sheriff’s Office confirmed he is not an officer.

Campbell remains in the Maries County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
