Carport fire contained near Interstate 70
Boone County fire crews battled a large fire at a carport on I-70 Drive Northeast Sunday afternoon.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation, but crews told ABC 17 News at the scene two new cars were destroyed.
A nearby house suffered minor damage, mostly melted siding.
Thick black smoke from the fire could be seen for miles along Interstate 70.
Three people were home at the time, but no one was injured.
