Tracking more sunshine this afternoon, severe storms tomorrow

THIS AFTERNOON: Spotty showers clear to the south, with more sunshine and comfortable temperatures in the mid-70s.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool, with lows falling to the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Wednesday is an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day for the threat of severe storms in the afternoon and evening. A warm front will lift north of the area in the morning, leaving us hot and humid in the afternoon with a high near 90 degrees. Severe storms will develop along a cold front by mid to late afternoon, with all severe hazards possible. The severe risk drops quickly overnight, but scattered showers and storms will continue through Thursday south of I-70, where rain totals could climb above an inch. Friday will be much nicer, with sunshine and warm temperatures in the mid-80s. Dry weather may last through most of Saturday, but rain chances will increase again by the end of the weekend on Sunday.
