Woman killed in overnight Boone County crash

A woman was killed overnight in a crash north of Columbia.

The crash was discovered just before 8 a.m. Wednesday at Highway VV and Mauller Road, but authorities say the car may have been there for some time.

Mary Rogers-Hart, 49, of Columbia, was killed in the accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened while Rogers-Hart was heading southbound on Highway VV. Authorities say she veered onto the shoulder, overcorrected and drove off the east side of the road, causing the car to roll into a ditch.

Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt.
