School affected by water main break

A school in Jefferson City dismissed early on Monday because of a water main break.

St. Joseph Cathedral School on West Main Street let students go home at 12:45 p.m., after a pipe broke near Oak Creek Court and Tanner Creek Bridge Road.

Reports first came in around 9:28 a.m. Monday. Repairs could last up to six hours.

Officials at American Water confirmed customers could experience little to no pressure, along with cloudy water or discoloration.

If there is a boil advisory, workers will post a notice on people’s doors.
