Roots N Blues continues safely
The Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival is going smoothly, organizers say. They also say much of this is thanks to the large number of volunteers.
More than 100 volunteers are placed throughout the park to keep the crowds under control.
Festival leader Richard King said, “There was a lot of planning that went into this. There’s great people helping us, including all of our wonderful volunteers.”
Volunteers did have a big incentive for signing up. All volunteers get free admittance to the festival. Festival officials say volunteers’ work is crucial to safe crowd control.
“I’m worried about getting our fans in and out of there safely and in a comfortable time. I think we are close to keeping it pretty good,” said King.
