WEDNESDAY UPDATES: Indian Hills Park to host COVID-19 vaccination clinic Saturday
Indian Hills Park will host a coronavirus vaccine outreach clinic Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with help from Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS),Boone Health and MU Health Care.
The clinic is being held at the park for neighbors in the area but all are welcome to schedule an appointment. Moderna will be given at this clinic so anyone aged 18 or older is eligible for the vaccine. The vaccine is free and no health insurance is required.
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can be made by following this link or by visiting CoMo.gov/CovidVaccine and clicking on the "Sign up for the Indian Hills vaccine clinic" button.
Those unable to schedule an appointment online are welcomed to call the City Contact Center at 573.874.CITY (2489). Second doses will be administered May 22 at the same location.
Boone County jumps back up to 100 active coronavirus cases
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 18 new COVID-19 cases.
There are currently 100 active cases in the county.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 18,190.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 18,005.
The county continues to trend down as there have been 83 straight days of single or double-digit case increases.
The health department is reporting one Boone County resident are in the hospital due to the coronavirus.
The State of Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard is reporting that 77,167 residents have received their first dose in Boone County and 49,182 Boone County residents have completed their vaccine doses.
Boone County has the largest percentage of people in Mid-Missouri that have received at least one dose of the vaccine with 42.8%. Boone County has a reported 27.3% of residents that have completed their coronavirus vaccine doses.
Cole County has the second-highest first vaccination rate in Mid-Missouri with 32.6%. Saline County is third with 31%.
