Police officers in Jefferson City arrested a man suspected of multiple drug crimes Thursday, according to a news release sent out Friday.

Charles Davis Jr., 36, of Jefferson City, was arrested with more than 3 pounds of drugs outside of a grocery, police say.

Officers saw Davis in the parking lot of Schnucks on Missouri Boulevard around 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, the release said.

Police said Davis had an active arrest warrant for possessing a weapon and that he was taken into custody without incident.

Davis had a large bag with him that officers say contained various drugs. The release said ecstasy pills, prescription drugs and heroin, as well as, 3 pounds of methamphetamine were inside the bag.
