Mizzou falls to No. 9 Ohio State in NCAA Tournament
OMAHA, Neb. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou volleyball team fell short of its first Sweet 16 run since 2017, following a loss to No. 9 Ohio State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Buckeyes took down the Tigers in straight sets, 3-0, on Thursday afternoon. OSU opposite hitter Emily Londot come off of the team's first round bye strong, with 13 kills, along with 10 digs.
Josh Taylor's duo of outside hitters, senior Kylie Deberg and sophomore Anna Dixon, finished with match with a combined 25 kills and seven digs, with Deberg leading the match in kills, with 17.
Deberg finishes her Mizzou career with multiple All-American awards and three appearances in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. In 2019, she became only the second Mizzou player in program history with 600-plus points in a single season. In the same year, Deberg also recorded the most kills in Tiger single-season history, with 524 kills and 4.72 per set.
