Public input wanted in search for next University of Missouri chancellor

The University of Missouri will hold two public forums as part of the search for a new chancellor.

The forums are designed to allow the general public to give input into qualities and attributes the next MU chancellor should have.

UM System President Tim Wolfe will host the forums next week.

“As president… I am eager to hear Missourians’ thoughts on the qualities and characteristics they would like to see in the next MU chancellor,” Wolfe said in a statement.

In June, Chancellor Brady Deaton announced he would retire effective November 15. However, Deaton will remain on campus and head a new global development center named in his honor.

The first forum will take place on Monday, July 22 at 10 a.m. in the Jesse Hall Auditorium.

The second forum will be on Thursday, July 25, also at 10 a.m., in the Memorial Student Union.
