Campus “bear hugger” sentenced to probation
A man arrested for stalking women on the University of Missouri and Stephens College campuses pleaded guilty in court Tuesday.
20-year-old Timothy Anderson appeared in court on stalking and assault charges.
The judge then sentenced Anderson to two years’ probation, which includes ten days in the Boone County Jail. However, he faces two years in jail if he violates the probation conditions.
Anderson is also banned from both the MU and Stephens College campuses.
He was originally arrested in October 2012 after calling and texting a victim incessantly and running after girls on campus who he thought were the original victim. He reportedly gave “bear hugs” to two girls.
Anderson is also banned from any controlled substances and will have to submit to random drug tests.
