Two major construction projects to affect drivers on Interstate 70 Saturday and Sunday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Drivers should expect some weekend delays along Interstate 70 in Boone and Callaway County.

MoDOT says that crews have planned a ground survey to prepare for construction of the new I-70 bridge in Boone County.

Crews plan to work from the Route BB interchange to one mile west of the bridge which will result in a closure starting at 7 p.m. Friday and go through Sunday at 6 a.m.

Bridge construction expects to begin in 2022.

In Callaway County, concrete repairs along Interstate 70 will require contractors working for MoDOT to close the eastbound exit ramp and westbound entrance ramp at mile marker 137 near Millersburg on Sunday night.

The ramps will close at 7 p.m. and are expected to reopen by 6 a.m. the next morning. Motorists who want to access the ramps will need to seek alternate routes. Message boards will be in place to inform drivers of the ramp closures.
