Evan Ebel had bomb-making materials in trunk

Evan Ebel, the man accused of killing former Missouri corrections star Tom Clements, may have been plotting more violence.

Documents obtained by ABC 17 News Tuesday show evidence was gathered from Ebel’s car that included bomb-making materials, zip ties, surveillance cameras and at least one weapon.

The evidence was sent to both the El Paso County Sheriff Department and Denver police.

Ebel was killed by deputies last Thursday after a high speed chase and shootout near Fort Worth, Texas. He is also a suspect in the murder of Nathan Leon, a pizza delivery driver in Denver, days before Clements’ Tuesday night shooting death in Monument, Colo.

The Wise County, Texas search warrant described how investigators also found a pizza delivery box and branded pizza delivery jacket in the car. Other contents of the car included documents from the Department of Corrections and letters from a man called “Nate.” The documents give no indication who that person may be.

Tom Clements spent more than three decades in correction in Missouri, living in Columbia, before he and his family moved to Colorado two years ago. He was remembered a public memorial service Monday morning in Colorado Springs.
