Former Tiger named Rangers 5th starter

Former Missouri Tiger pitcher Nick Tepesch will make his major league debut in 2013 as the fifth starter in the Texas Rangers starting rotation.

The 24-year old right-hander pitched last season in Class-A and Double-A, compiling a 11-6 combined record at both levels.

Tepesch had a very strong spring going before a March 22 outing against the Colorado Rockies when he gave up eight earned runs in just five innings of work.

Tepesch was a 14th round selection out of the University of Missouri by Texas in the 2010 MLB Draft.
