Animal Abuse Report Released

***UPDATE WEDNESDAY 3 P.M.***ABC 17 News has obtained the Department of Agriculture report investigation allegations of animal abuse at an Eldon shelter.The report says there is no credible allegations and no evidence to support that two dogs were brutally beaten. However, the findings show that several people interviewed contradicted themselves and that there were multiple inconsistencies.The Department of Agriculture will reinspect the facility in Miller County before reinstating their license for this year. The department will also forward the report to the Missouri Attorney General’s office for further review.***ORIGINAL STORY***Eldon city leaders are meeting Tuesday night after the state released its report on alleged animal abuse at a shelter.ABC 17 News has learned that Mayor Ronald Bly has received the investigation report from the Missouri Department of Agriculture. The investigation involves the alleged brutal beating of two dogs by two Eldon police officers during an incident in January.The mayor says the agriculture department’s report has not been shown to the council yet, but it will be released on Wednesday. Bly told ABC 17 News that the report is thorough and fair, but would not comment further until the council has had a chance to read it.As of Tuesday evening, only the mayor and the city administrator have read the report.
