Forum Blvd Safety Question

The safety of Forum Boulevard in southern Columbia is in question again after a head-on collision Thursday afternoon. Earlier Friday, employees at Tan Rio and Peak Performance across the street say they see constant fender benders and traffic backed up. They said Thursday afternoon was the first major accident this winter. Columbia police are still investigating the cause of the accident. ABC 17 was unable to speak with the traffic division because the report was not finished. Last year, the city council approved a $200,000 project to improve Forum around the Hinkson Creek, with construction beginning last October. The accident Thursday happened down the street from where the construction took place, raising the question – what else can be done to further increase the safety of this road. Public works encourages everyone to be careful on Forum Boulevard around the creek and the curve just to the southeast.
