Deputies arrest man suspected of Saturday night shooting on Millbrook Drive

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Sheriff's deputies arrested one man suspected of a late-Saturday night shooting in west Columbia.

James Brison, 39, of St. Louis, is suspected of firing at least 15 shots in the 4400 block of Millbrook Drive around 11:45 p.m., the sheriff's department said.

Boone County Sheriff's Department spokesman Capt. Brian Leer told ABC 17 Brison was seen laying in the front yard of another residence when authorities arrived.

Brison may have been suffering from a medical condition when crews arrived, Leer said. Authorities administered Narcan, when Brison regained consciousness a handgun was taken from him.

Deputies said 15 shell casings were found at the scene. Investigators also found numerous bullet holes in the front door of a residence. Leer said there was gunfire damage to the inside of the home as well.

Nobody was hurt in the shooting, deputies said.

Authorities took Brison from the scene to a local hospital for evaluation. He was later released and booked into the Boone County Jail around 2:52 p.m. on Sunday, according to online records.

As of Monday morning, Brison had bonded out of jail custody.

The jail records said Brison was arrested on suspicion of multiple felony charges including unlawful use of a weapon.
