Rock Bridge tennis coach breaks state record for wins

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Longtime Rock bridge tennis coach Ben Loeb continues to rewrite the Missouri record books.

The Missouri Sports Hall of Famer is now the winningest high school tennis coach in state history. He secured win No. 1,139 on Monday night in the Bruins home opener against Liberty-Wentzville. Loeb now has one more win than legendary Kirkwood tennis coach Art Stout.

After the win - his team presented him with a banner recognizing his latest accomplishment.

"This accomplishment will mean a lot to me, but it's another 'we thing,'" Loeb said. "It's whatever we accomplished together that means the most."

Since 1994, Lobe has taken his teams to 41 Final Fours. He's won 19 state championships as the head coach at both Rock Bridge and Hickman.
