Curators Vote to Raise Tuition
The University of Missouri Board of Curators voted to increase tuition on all four of its campuses next year.Tuition for the UM System will increase by 1.7 percent — the rate of inflation — for all in-state undergraduate students. UM System President Tim Wolfe say the university has raised tuition 2.3 percent annually for the past five years, which is below the 6 percent increase for other neighboring state institutions.Annual in-state tuition at the flagship Columbia campus will rise to $9,343, an increase of $158.Curators also voted to increase graduate tuition rates for resident and nonresident students: 1.7 percent at MU and UMKC, 4.4 percent at Missouri S&T and 1.9 percent and 5.9 percent at UMSL.The new tuition rates will take effect with the 2013 summer session.
