Boone County Fire District reports battles 35 fires last three days

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Fire District reported fighting 35 fires over the last three days.

Officials report the first fire was on Saturday at 11:09 a.m. when firefighters began battling large natural cover fires across Boone County.

Officials report crews battled as many as five fires at the same time.

Volunteer firefighters reported working as much as 14 hours straight to protect homes, outbuildings, barns, animals and vehicles from being injured or destroyed.

On Saturday, the fire district responded to 11 fires with more than 50 personnel and 30 pieces of fire apparatus during a 9-hour stretch.

Officials report 12 fires Sunday with more than 60 personnel and 31 pieces of apparatus during a 10-hour stretch.

On Monday, crews battled 12 Fires with more than 60 personnel and 31 pieces of apparatus during a 14-hour period.
