Tracking one last warm afternoon before rain chances return

wiindy

TUESDAY: Another quiet, but breezy day in store today! Temperatures will warm into the middle 70’s later today behind that stout southerly wind. Some of those gusts could reach up to 30 mph, but we’ll get to enjoy the sun one more day.

TONIGHT: Clouds start to increase into this evening. Any light showers will hold off until closer to midnight and look to favor areas north of I-70. Lows will only fall into the mid to upper 50’s.

EXTENDED: We’re behind a warm front on Wednesday, so things will stay mild despite the ample cloud cover. A few showers will be present throughout the day, but nothing terribly heavy. A cold front arrives late Wednesday night, sparking a round of more widespread showers and storms. There could be one or two that get on the strong side, and that would be during the overnight hours into Thursday morning. That batch will clear off toward the east by midday, leaving things a little quieter Thursday afternoon. Showers will pick back up in coverage Thursday night and throughout the day on Friday. This looks like it will be the most widespread, long-lived portion of the event. That looks to start to dwindle during the day Saturday, but the chance of rain will still be there. Another round of showers and a few storms will move through Sunday. Temperatures will still be tough to call some days with all of the rain-cooled air, but generally hanging onto the 60’s Wednesday and Thursday before falling into the 40’s and 50’s for the remainder.
