Audrain County man accused of witness tampering

VANDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man charged in an Audrain County theft is now being accused of witness tampering.

Deputies say Joshua Cuno allegedly stole four guns and tools in October and the victim's family member returned three of the guns and tools at the end of December.

Cuno allgedly displayed the missing gun during an assault last month.

He is being held at the Audrain County jail on charges of theft and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, while in jail Cuno reportedly reached out to a witness asking them to back up his story of having the guns for target practice.

Prosecutors filed four felony charges of tamper or attempting to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution against Cuno on Wednesday. He also faces a charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of stealing in the stolen firearm case.
