Snow packed roads lined Highway 50 near Jefferson City early Wednesday morning.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Roadways across Mid-Missouri could still be covered in snow or have some slick spots in time for the Wednesday morning commute.

MoDOT said many highways around the area have a covering of snow.

In Columbia, roadways were mostly clear but some slick spots were noticeable along residential streets.

Snow packed roads surrounded the Capital City early Wednesday -- Snow was building up on city streets and highways. Lincoln University delayed its campus opening until 10 a.m. because of the road conditions.

The MoDOT Traveler Information Map showed all ways leading out of Jefferson City were covered. It showed many Columbia thoroughfares had a partial covering.

Many school districts around the area have called off class ahead of another round of snow. An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is in effect through the afternoon.
