Tracking clouds and a chilly northwest breeze

TODAY: Friday may start with bright skies at sunrise for some, but clouds are moving in from the north today as cold air moves in behind last night's cold front. Cooler air is also moving in via northwest winds around 15-20 mph at times. Wind gusts of 25-30 mph will be possible as well. Today's high is forecast in the low 50s.

TONIGHT: The coolest air arrives tonight, as high pressure sinks into the region. Winds will calm overnight, and temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s in most places. Some in the north may be as low as the mid-30s, which is cold enough for frost. A Frost Advisory is in effect for Saline, Audrain, and all counties along and north of HWY 24.

EXTENDED: Sunny skies return on Saturday and persist through the rest of the forecast. High temperatures are likely in the 50s again on Saturday, but return to the 60s on Sunday, and to the 70s next week.
