Tracking snow and freezing temperatures Saturday

TODAY: A Weather Alert Day is in effect with snow showers moving in by late morning through mid-evening. Accumulations between 1-3" are expected with temperatures sticking to the 20s.

THIS EVENING: Snow showers will be most widespread in the afternoon. By the evening, these are expected to exit the area, but travel impacts are still possible. Temperatures behind this system will plummet into the teens by dinnertime and continue falling into the single digits overnight.

EXTENDED: Slick roads are possible overnight into Sunday with single digit temperatures. Wind chills will fall below zero through mid-morning Sunday. Temperatures only make it to the upper teens to around 20 on Sunday with cloudy skies and a chance for a few flurries. Wind chills fall into the single digits once again on Monday, along with a chance of freezing rain and snow, especially north of I-70. Next week is unusually cold with highs in the teens and lows in the single digits for the entire workweek.
