COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of shots fired Monday night on the 4500 block of West Bellview Dr.

While a report of shots fired was being reported, a report of a “suspicious person” call came on the 3500 block of Scott Blvd.

While investigating the shots fired call, deputies found bullet damage to a window at a residence.

Columbia police stopped a nearby vehicle and a CPD Officer requested Sheriff’s Office assistance after noticing a passenger in the vehicle matched the description of the suspicious person described in the call on Scott Blvd.

Officials report the three occupants of the vehicle were armed, one of which was identified as Antonio Tatum.

During the investigation, probable cause was developed to indicate Tatum had fired the handgun in his possession on West Bellview Drive, causing damage to a residence. Officials report that it is believed Tatum fired the weapon during or after a drug transaction in the area.
