Tracking a cold rain to kick off the week

soggy start

MONDAY: Moisture has surged back north and is coming down as a cold rain this morning for most of us. North of I-70 this transition to a wintry mix, with isolated road impacts possible. Temperatures will be holding steady throughout the morning, into the upper 30's, keeping most precipitation liquid. Winds out of the east gusting at times to 30 mph won't make things feel much better.

TONIGHT: South of the interstate, things will taper off to a drizzle this afternoon but some light flurries will be possible along and north of it late tonight. A light dusting could be possible as we wake up Tuesday morning on elevated surfaces. Lows will fall into the low 30's.

EXTENDED: Mostly cloudy skies will keep temperatures in the 30's Tuesday. A quick-moving system will move through Tuesday night into Wednesday that could bring some light snow. This system doesn't appear to be troublesome, with another light dusting possible. The rest of the week will be quiet. Sunshine returns Thursday, but we're a little slow to warm up a whole lot, with highs in the 30's again. Friday is a different story, though with temperatures pushing into the mid to upper 40's. Another widespread rain opportunity moves in Saturday, but should be alongside highs in the mid to upper 50's. This should exit by Sunday, but so will the mild weather, with 40's closing out the weekend.
