Meghan Drakas was promoted to Evening Anchor at ABC 17 News in August of 2023.

During her time as evening anchor, she was awarded 'Best News Series' for her 'Tackling Homelessness in Mid-Missouri' stories at the 2024 Missouri Broadcaster's Association Awards.

During her time at the KMIZ, Meghan has held a few positions including multi-media journalist and weekday morning anchor.

She joined ABC 17 News in January of 2021 and calls the suburbs of Philadelphia home.

She graduated from Penn State University in May 2020 with a journalism degree and minors in sociology and digital media trends and analytics. During her time at Penn State, she interned with FOX 29’s “Good Day Philadelphia”, 6 ABC Action News’s special projects department and WFMZ’s Sunrise show. She's also interned with a local Philadelphia online news outlet, The Sanatoga Post.

Meghan is a big fan of traveling and her favorite place is London. She enjoys trying new foods and her favorite is Chinese food. Meghan loves fashion and always on the lookout for a unique piece to add to her collection. She is a huge fan of dogs and misses her 6-year-old yellow lab, Tucker, who is back at home with her family.
