Sedalia man pleads guilty in 2018 fatal wreck

MGN

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Kin Darius Patterson entered a guilty plea on multiple charges in the fatal wreck of 49-year-old Michael Poindexter.

As we reported in 2018, troopers said a car attempted to cross the highway and pulled into the path of Poindexter’s motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into the car, ejecting Poindexter.

A Cooper County judge sentenced Patterson to shock incarceration. Patterson will go to the Department of Corrections for a period of 120 days. At the conclusion of the 120 days, he will be released on probation with a seven-year backup sentence.

Patterson was charged with involuntary manslaughter, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, possession of marijuana, failure to yield after stopping to a vehicle that entered an intersection and operating a vehicle without a license.
