Boone County deputies investigate construction worker death

KMIZ

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County sheriff's deputies are investigating a death at a construction site that happened Wednesday morning.

Sheriff's department spokesman Sgt. Brian Leer said in an email crews were called to an incident at a construction site near the Boone/Callaway county line on E. Burnett School Road around 10:18 a.m.

Deputies said a worker had been hit with a piece of machinery and was pronounced dead when crews arrived.

Leer said no foul play is expected in the incident and that it "is believed to be a work-related construction accident."

A Boone County Road and Bridge news release said bridge work closed the road over Cedar Creek in 2016.
