Jefferson City man convicted of 2017 murder
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A jury convicted a Jefferson City man of second-degree murder linked to a 2017 killing on Thursday.
The Cole County Prosecutor said a sentencing date has not yet been decided.
Jeffery Millens was found guilty of murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm, Locke Thompson said.
Millens is accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old Quonterio Davis in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, 2017.
Witnesses told police Millens and Davis got into a fight at party and that Millens shot the other man multiple times.
Thompson said jurors deliberated for just over three hours.
The prosecutor included Millens could face up to four decades in prison for the crimes. He could be sentenced to anywhere from 10-30 years on the murder charge, up to 10 years on the weapons charge and a minimum of three years for armed criminal action, Thompson said.
