TUESDAY UPDATES: Callaway County reports fifth COVID-19 related death
UPDATE 5:45 P.M: Callaway County Health Department is reporting the county's fifth death related to novel coronavirus.
The county has 32 new active cases; there are currently 203 active cases overall.
Since the pandemic began earlier this year, Callaway County has had a total of 894 positive cases, 50 since last reported.
The health department is reporting 17 new and 686 total individuals making a full recovery.
Moniteau County reports sixth COVID-19 related death
UPDATE 4:56 P.M.: The Moniteau County Health Center is reporting the sixth death of a Moniteau County resident due to COVID-19. The resident was in their 70’s.
Moniteau County has 485 total cases in the county, 80 of them are active.
The county is reporting 400 recoveries.
There are currently eight people hospitalized in Moniteau County with the novel coronavirus.
Boone County reports 63 new COVID-19 cases
UPDATE 4:42 P.M.: Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 63 new COVID-19 cases in the county Tuesday, 50 more than Monday. That brings the total to 5,299 cases.
There were nine more active cases of the virus with 338 cases being reported.
The health department reported 54 new recoveries bringing the total to 4,948 cases.
Currently, there are 66 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Boone County hospitals, 20 of which are Boone County residents.
The number of patients in the ICU is reported to be 26. Sixteen of those cases are on a hospital ventilator.
Randolph County reports COVID-19 related death over the weekend
UPDATE 4:08 P.M.: Randolph County Health Department is reporting one new death from over the weekend.
The health department is reporting 33 new total cases bringing a total of 473 in the county.
Nine people are hospitalized currently but 55 have been recovered bringing the total to 341.
Miller County reports two deaths related to COVID-19
UPDATE 3:45 P.M.: Miller County Health Center is reporting two more COVID-19 related deaths. That brings the total to 13 for the county.
The Miller County Health Center is reporting 57 new cases for a total of 709 cases since they last reported an update last Friday.
The health department is reporting 99 activce cases, that is 27 more than last Friday.
Mid-Missouri schools report new COVID-19 cases
ORIGINAL: Schools across mid-Missouri reported new COVID-19 cases Monday.
Blair Oaks R-II Schools District said another fifth grade students tested positive for the virus Monday. Schools officials said the student was already in quarantine as a close contact from another case and another five students will quarantine as a result of the students positive test.
In Jefferson City, six JC Schools staff members tested positive for novel coronavirus. The district reported one case each at the Southwest Early Childhood Center, Lawson and North Elementary Schools and three cases at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. As a result of the positive cases, five other staff members were sent to quarantine as close contacts.
The Moberly Public School District also reported two positive cases in high school students that sent 31 other students to quarantine as close contacts.
