Kansas City loses its first game of the season

KMIZ

KANSAS CITY, Mo (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Chiefs can no longer boast an undefeated record.

The Las Vegas Raiders stunned Andy Reid and company in a 40-32 air raid victory at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kansas City came out of the gates with three touchdowns in the first half, but the Raiders were more than able to match them.

Las Vegas' Derek Carr finished with 347 yards in the air and three touchdowns. That along with Josh Jacobs' 77 yards and two touchdowns, made for a rough day at Arrowhead.

Kansas City kept the game pretty close in the third quarter, trailing 24-21, but the Raiders flipped a switch in the fourth quarter.

Las Vegas put up 15 points on Kansas in the fourth quarter alone.

After the game, Patrick Mahomes said he and his team did not play a complete game of football on Sunday.

The Chiefs came out firing in the first half, putting up 14 unanswered points after Las Vegas' initial field goal, but that's where it stopped.

Kansas City moves on to face the Buffalo Bills. For now, the league has pushed that meeting back to Monday, October 19 due to COVID-19 concerns.
