Traffic stop leads to two arrests on multiple charges
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia Police arrested the passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop for multiple charges including trafficking drugs, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, Ethan Leavell was the front passenger in a vehicle that failed to signal a right turn causing the traffic stop.
Officials say Leavell consented to a search of himself and police found a baggie with what looked and smelled like marijuana.
A search of the vehicle found a stolen gun out of Boone County under the front seat according to court documents.
Police report the back passenger, Destiny Bretz, had meth in a bag in her pants.
Leavell is charged with stealing - firearm, trafficking drugs, unlawful use of weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm.
Leavell has a $20,000 cash/surety bond set three charges and $10,000 cash/surety bond for another charge.
Bretz is charged with drug trafficking. She has a $10,000 cash/surety bond.
Leavell's next court date is Nov. 5.
