A woman accused of starting fires at two Jefferson City homes has been indicted on three federal criminal counts.

A federal grand jury indicted Iasha Cannady, 46, of Jefferson City, last week on two counts of maliciously using explosive materials and one count of having an unregistered destructive device.

Police arrested Cannady after someone used what appeared to be Molotov cocktails at two Jefferson City homes on Lafayette and East Water streets on June 27. Police said they believe the fires were set as retaliation after Cannady's daughter was in a fight.

The fight took place at a carnival outside the Capital Mall in Jefferson City and led to shots being fired to break it up, police reported. Police took two 16-year-olds into custody and cited a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old in connection with the fight.
