Tracking one last day of intense heat

TODAY: Today will largely mirror yesterday's temperatures, but we're also tracking rain chances for the day. A cold front will be approaching mid-Missouri, and as it settles into the area, we will start to see storms developing along that I-70 corridor. The first round of storms will begin in the afternoon and last until after dinner, while the second round of storms will come later. Highs for the day will be in the mid 90s with a heat index in the triple digits yet again.

TONIGHT: Storms will make their way through part of the viewing area overnight tonight, and the majority of the system will stay along and north of Interstate 70. Lows will fall into the mid 70s.

EXTENDED: You'll likely need the umbrella throughout most of the day Monday. The cold front will stall out over the region providing a path for weak waves of low pressure to ride along. We won't be able to kick rain chances throughout the week, but after Tuesday, the organization is lacking for us to see widespread rain. Temperatures will be cooler with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s.
