Tracking rain chances as hazardous heat approaches

TUESDAY: That warmth finally sets in as we get into this afternoon as highs will push into the low to mid 90’s with a heat index threatening the triple-digits. We'll see a few more clouds than we've had these past few days, but conditions will remain calm.

TONIGHT: Storm chances return late tonight. Depending on how organized this line of storms stay, we could be looking at some gusty winds. The best chances for storms will fall along and north of I-70.

EXTENDED:  Depending on how that morning round of storms holds together and unfolds, we could see another round by the afternoon. If they fall apart like the last few have wanted to, the chance increases for the afternoon. If anything does develop Wednesday evening, it will need to be monitored for some hail and gusty winds. Currently, it looks as if our atmosphere will hold steady as storms redevelop off to our southeast. We get back to the quiet weather Thursday with highs back in the low 90’s. This will start out what looks like an extended stay in the heat, with highs approaching the middle to upper 90’s this weekend. Heat indices will be in the 105-110 range this weekend so stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if outdoors.
