Tracking lower humidity next few days, storms Saturday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and muggy with lows in the upper 60s to around 70.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and hot, but not as humid. Heat index between 92-93 degrees.

EXTENDED: Another complex of strong storms is expected to develop to our northwest on Friday night, drifting in our direction early on Saturday. This will give us a chance of storms by mid-morning through early afternoon. A few of those storms could be on the stronger side if the complex holds together, bringing the threat of heavy rain and isolated damaging winds. Storms move out by midday or a bit after, leaving us with temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90 and heat indices in the low to mid-90s. We finally get a break from the humidity on Sunday with dew points tumbling back into the 60s. Temperatures remain in the upper 80s on Sunday and Monday before the heat ramps up even more next week as we get underneath a large ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere. This will bring temperatures soaring into the mid-upper 90s with minimal rain next week.
